Casio PX130 Privia Keyboard with CS67 Keyboard Stand Review

Casio PX130 Privia Keyboard with CS67 Keyboard Stand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I agree with the reviews that discuss the feel and the sound, truly remarkable for such an entry level piano, you could not possibly be disappointed. For $449 up here in Canada it included the stand and the three pedals and a fairly substantial four legged padded stool. The total package is very sturdy if you put it together properly. I have no idea where the $800+ price tag mentioned on this site comes from. I give it five stars and thank Costco for marketing it at a fantastic price, amazing value. Not a toy, not polished ebony, but a really inexpensive entry level digital piano that sounds and feels very impressive. Yes it's a Casio folks, get over it, accept the fact that they have just moved the bar to a new level.

Casio CTK-5000-STAD 61-Key Digital Music Keyboard Review

Casio CTK-5000-STAD 61-Key Digital Music Keyboard
Average Reviews:

we just got this a few days ago, and are very happy with it. The sound is very realistic for piano, and the action feels good. We were using an older borrowed keyboard, and were pleasantly surprised at the playablility and sound quality.
we bought from JR, because at the time it was slightly cheaper than Amazon, even with shipping, but the price has gone up.
This keyboard came with a stand, probably a $20 value, which is a bonus. It shows it in the picture, but not in the product description. We just had to get a bench and we were set.
We've just started exploring the settings. The first we adjusted was the touch sensitivity, which makes it louder the harder (technically, the faster) you hit the key, like a real piano. It has 3 setting choices: off, 1, and 2, with 2 being most sensitive. On 2 there is a pretty wide range of volume with key stroke, from very quiet on up, mimicking a real piano; not just quiet and loud.
Its still new to us, but we are very pleased with what we got for the money.

Learning to play the piano gets even easier and, once you learn, the opportunities to play, create, and store your music becomes virtually unlimited with the Casio CTK-5000. With Casio's intuitive Step-Up Lesson system, songs are divided into short, easy-to-master phrases making it easy for just about anyone to learn to play. After you master a phrase you advance to the next one. With this new lesson function, you keep building up your collection of mastered phrases and soon you are able to play the entire song. All built-in tones, including piano and acoustic instrument tones, now sound better than ever before! 48-tone maximum polyphony provides plenty of margin to minimize the chance of notes being dropped when tones are layered and when playing with Auto Accompaniment. Touch Response let's you add delicate nuances to notes by varying how much pressure you apply to keyboard keys. Full-Size 24-Note Polyphonic 61-Key Keyboard Review

Full-Size 24-Note Polyphonic 61-Key Keyboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Although the higher-priced Casio wk-3000 has a good reputation, THIS keyboard (Casio CTK-593), I find is inferior to the Yamaha keyboard of the same price both in the sound and the way the notes resonate and the way the notes sound when played together or when you gradually move from one note to the other. I cannot find a sustain button onboard in case you don't have a sustain pedal. And there's no "portable grand” button like on the Yamaha. Instead, I have to manually push several buttons every time I turn it on to get the setting I want. However, when I was cleaning my Yamaha, I rubbed so hard (sideways) on the keys to clean them, 5 of them stopped working. So I will tolerate this Casio since it is touch sensitive and OK for learning. If I learn to play well however, I will upgrade to an 88 key weighted keyboard. I slightly prefer the touch of the keys of the Casio against the Yamaha because the Yamaha seemed to require a softer touch which made me feel totally odd on a real piano (once you‘re used to playing with a softer touch).

I purchased the PSR340 as a Christmas gift for my retired parents. They both have a history with full sized organs and piano's and they simply love the Yamaha keyboard. I was particularly pleased with Amazon.com's ordering process. I was promptly notified via email of the exact status of my order and received it right on schedule.
Yes, I was rather disappointed that Yamaha chose not to include the power supply but Amazon.com DOES in fact sell it.

Yamaha EZ30 Review

Yamaha EZ30
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have this model of the Yamaha keyboard collection, and I have to say: it's the best model I've ever owned (save the older one I gave away, which was also a Yamaha). The older one would probably be about 14 years old by now, and I remember it very well. It was probably my first one with songs like 'House of the Rising Sun' 'Troika' 'New Age'. I've played the EZ-30 keyboard for three years now and it's sounding like new; nothing sounds outdated. It's timeless! I truly recommend this model to anyone wishing to learn how to play the piano as it assists you in both mistakes and accomplishments through lessons. It provides you with voice feedback. The keys also have a light-up feature, perfect for beginners and even for experts! It provides you with an array of realistic-sounding instruments as well as unbeatable sound effects: from helicopter to streams to birds to thunder. Songs include 'Celebration' , 'Happy Birthday' , as well as classics: 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me' 'Greensleeves' 'Fur Elise' and patriotic melodies. Everything is accessible, you're able to record and download your own or pre-created songs. In summary, I give it five stars for its sophistication and ease of play.

The sonic quality of the EZ30 is enhanced with 32 notes of polyphony, two-way speakers, and bass ports.
The EZ30 can help turn you into a skilled musician with nine levels of lessons. The guide lights help you learn right- and left-hand parts and brings both hands together with special lesson plans. My son owns this keyboard and it has been a dream for him. When he is sent to bed he plays the keyboard and has taught himself several songs. The keybard has allowed him to teach himself from the easy learning instructions he is 10 and has learned to play like a true pianist. We are enrolling him in a school for music and we receive a partial scholarship to learn.
I have 5 children and they have had different keyboards but they have elected this TOP RATED. They are all finding it extremely pleasing and of good use for all of them even if its for the one son they have all found it to be the best.
The keyboard has easy instructions, easy to learn, and best of all THE BEAUTIFUL PRICE. Which since I have been shopping at amazon.com I will honestly say the prices have been the best and the products are the best. I am appreciative for amazon.com.

Quik-Lok M-91 Monolith Single-Tier Keyboard Stand Review

Quik-Lok M-91 Monolith Single-Tier Keyboard Stand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this stand because I need space for a volume pedal, sustain pedal, and rotary speaker effect on the floor, so the "X" style stands don't work for me. I have been using the "Z" style, but it took a long time to set up. This opens up immediately and is heavy duty. The only tradeoff is that it makes it somewhat awkward to carry, especially if you're not too tall. I put a bungee cord between the legs to keep them from swinging around. There is a little side-to-side play when it is all set up. I also bought the M-92 upper tier separately, and it seems they may have had different versions. The stand has a nut in the bottom of the frame while the second tier has the threads on the side. There was also no tool to adjust the second tier in the kit, but I found a couple metric screws, m8 x1.25 thread and the star drive screwdriver at the hardware store to complete my set up. So far so good.

this is the best 88 key controller I've used for all-around features in the sub$1000USD market. they keys aren't wobbly or cheap as another reviewer suggests, they feel like just about any other weighted synthesizer keyboard. velocity control can be tweaked to use different velocity curves, and the knobs, buttons, sliders, etc can all be assigned to custom midi messages. the editor software is not simple to use for a beginner, but allows alot of flexibility. I cannot comment on it's usb functionality as I have it connected to a midi timepiece.

Pop/Rock - Note-for-Note Keyboard Transcriptions
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This book is exactly what the title says it is: accurate note-for-note transcriptions of pop/rock songs. It doesn't have the typical cheesy arrangements with the vocal line mixed into the piano part. It also doesn't have guitar songs that don't quite work on the piano. All the songs have prominent piano/keyboard parts, and every one I've tried is faithful to the original. Since the melody is typically not in the piano, you do need to be able to sing along or have a friend who can sing. But the result sounds much, much better than just about any other piano book I've bought. If you like at least a few of the songs in the book, you will not be disappointed!

I am really happy that I bought this program as a plug-in for Pro-Tools. The sounds are really great. Most are perfect. My nephew who plays bassoon at Julliard thought the low woodwind samples were extremely accurate.
I am not as thrilled with the piano samples as I am with those I use in Reason, and there are no saxaphones. The combination of Reason and Miroslav give you an incredible package for classical and jazz work.
I use a GR-33 guitar synth and keybd as controllers. The GR-33 tracks beautifully with the synth engine. Not all programs can say that.
Buy it. You will not regret. If I could give it 4.9 stars, I would.

The Miroslav Philharmonik orchestra workstation from IK Multimedia combines the legendary Miroslav Orchestral and Choir sample collection masterpieces with a dedicated virtual instrument plug-in specifically tailored toward classical sounds and arrangements. Miroslav orchestral samples are some of the most playable and inspiring sounds ever produced for symphonic arrangements and composition. They've set the atmosphere of hundreds of movies and productions and have become the tool of choice for many Oscar winning composers. This sound collection contains some of the most beautiful and lush sounding orchestral samples ever recorded, with plenty of feeling and emotion. Miroslav was able to bring out the rich character of symphonic music with a special sound that is unique and powerfully expressive. For incredible acoustic realism, the string, brass, and woodwind sections have been captured in the proper acoustic orchestral positions inside one of the world's most famous symphony halls, Prague's Dvorák Symphony Hall. No need for simulation with panning, just call up the elements of the orchestra and instantly sound like a symphony. These sounds have a texture, warmth, and beauty that is unique in the sample world. The Miroslav Philharmonik's virtual orchestra plug-in is based on an enhanced version of the SampleTank workstation architecture, offering 16 multitimbral parts, with full control over the tempo and pitch of the sounds. Each of the 16 multitimbral parts can be loaded by selecting one of more than 1,300 orchestral instruments included in Philharmonik. All of the virtual instruments can be easily found in neatly organized folders within the browser window. Yamaha FC9 Dual Volume Foot Controller Review

Yamaha FC9 Dual Volume Foot Controller
Average Reviews:

Returning this, disappointed to find that it needs a 9v battery or an AC adapter, not included. The battery is drained as long as there is a plug in one of the two input jacks. Silly rabbit, why couldn't it cycle off when no signal flowing for 5-10 minutes (or some similar solution)? I'd be replacing the battery constantly or having to unplug it all the time. (Rest of my setup is all on a single power strip that I can switch on/off easily.) The old Boss FV-200 on loan to me from a friend doesn't require any power source.

Casio LK-55 61 Key Lighted Keyboard Review

Casio LK-55 61 Key Lighted Keyboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I don't give out five stars lightly, but the LK-55 is simply outstanding! I've owned an older casio for years but never really learned to play. I asked for a lighted-key keyboard for Xmas because I thought it would help me learn, and it already has!
I admit I am musically challenged, I can't really read music, and the correct fingering gets me confused. This keyboard transcends all that. The next note is lighted (as in all lighted-key keyboards), but it also has right AND left hand icons indicating the fingering. And if you can't look at all that at once, just push a button and a voice indicates the correct finger ("one", "two", "three", ...). It has 3 different learn-to-play modes. You can read the play mode descriptions in the docs, but suffice it to say that this tough critic really likes casio's implementation.
I had previously, with much discipline, over a long period of time, learned a few bars of Bach's "Jesus Bleibet Meine Freude" (Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring). It is a beautiful song, and I was thrilled to learn a little of it. This keyboard made it easy. I didn't need to find the score, pick out the keys, put A-B-C stickers on the keys, memorize bars, find a recording to compare against, or determine the correct fingering (which I never got right before).
Oh, I almost forgot, it has a microphone and it is great for sing alongs (even if you only use the built in songs like a juke box). It has my wife's favorite song (over the rainbow), popular kid songs, holiday songs, and all the folk & classical songs I currently wish to learn.
